Dr. J. H. Carter III & Associates, Inc. prepares forest stewardship and native plant community restoration plans. The firm prepares timber harvesting plans (including timber marking and site monitoring) within red-cockaded woodpecker (RCW) habitats following federal guidelines.

Sample Projects:

Developed a red-cockaded woodpecker Habitat Conservation Plan and implemented mitigation for 1000-acre tract, Berkeley County, South Carolina. 

Timber marking on a 516 acre golf course - residential development for red-cockaded woodpecker habitat improvement, Southern Pines, Moore County, North Carolina. 

Conducted timber inventory and timber sale assessments for 9,732-acre preserve, Tyrrell County, North Carolina. 

Inventoried timber stands and vegetation and created GPS/GIS data base for 35,500-acres at Marine Corps base, Camp Lejuene, Onslow County, North Carolina. 

Forest Stewardship Plan for 1,400 acre property, including: tree planting, burning, restoration and maintenance of natural communities, erosion control and game management, Scotland County, North Carolina.
